I'll save my favorite Ansel quote for later.

It's hard to look at black and white landscape photography without Ansel Adams coming to mind, even if the picture is mediocre and would've made Mr. Adams himself jump off a bridge, or off some granite into a Yosemite abyss. I've got a favorite quote or two from the King of Black and White which I will save for later so I don't become overly prophetic. Sometimes I just think someone else's words go better with a picture than my own. Meanwhile here are a couple of my favorite black and whites. (Sorry, Ansel.)
