My love for gas station cuisine stems from the Tioga Gas Mart (SO delicious) in Lee Vining, California. The gustatory satisfaction combined with the delight of discovery that resulted from this experience really launched me onto a path of greatness. The food doesn't have to be fresh or healthy (c'mon people, we are talking gas stations,) it just has to be delicious. Yeah, it has its ups and downs...like seriously gross gas station sausage...and sometimes your friends are creeped out by your standards, but when you find a winner, it is soooo worth it. Here is one of my faves-- the chorizo burrito from the Shell station in Sandy, Oregon.
