The emails have started coming in rallying the troop for this year's marten tracking! Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation is an awesome organization that, in short, pairs adventure athletes (of various modalities and levels) with scientists, and through these connections, scientists are able to gather data from areas that may not be able to be sampled otherwise. The mission has a greater scope than that, but you get the gist. Last year's marten tracking was a blast. We didn't find those little buggers but we got a lot of other creatures on our backcountry cameras and I learned a lot. NPR even did a bit on it which you can find here.
